During pregnancy: choose the right conversation

The prenatal acupuncture service page is the starting point for appointment information. Tell the clinic your stage of pregnancy, current concerns and any restrictions or recommendations from your OB or midwife before treatment is planned.

Bring a list of topics you want to discuss, such as nausea, physical comfort, rest or the experience of a first visit. These concerns have different causes and different care needs. A plan should reflect your circumstances rather than applying the same treatment to everyone at a particular trimester.

Questions to bring to your pregnancy-care team

• Does this symptom need assessment before complementary care?
• Are there any restrictions or precautions I should tell the acupuncturist?
• Who should receive information about my appointment?
• What changes should prompt me to contact your office?

Birth preparation, breech questions and moxibustion

If you are curious about birth-preparation appointments, ask the clinic what the visit includes and discuss it with your OB or midwife. No appointment should be presented as a guarantee of labor onset, a particular delivery route or an uncomplicated birth.

Tell both providers about your care. Booking complementary treatment does not replace prenatal appointments or change medical instructions.
